This paper emphasized on studying late-transition metal-Fe(II) catalysts for ethylene homogeneous polymerization by means of changing conditions of polymerization. The functions of cocatalysts, characteristics of ethylene polymerization behavior, characteristics of polymer structure as well as mechanism of ethylene polymerization were investigated.Firstly, [(ArN=C (Me))2C5H3N]FeCl2(Ar=2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)] (1) and [(ArN=C (Me))2C5H3N]FeCl2 (Ar=2,6-biisopropylphenyl)] (2) were synthesized. Ethylene polymerizations were investigated under the conditions of hexane as solvent and common alkylaluminiums as cocatalysts such as AlEt3, Al-i-Bu3, AlHe3 and so on, which was not reported in references. The effects of many factors on the polymerization properties of catalyst system were studied. These factors were the substituent of the iron complex, the amount of the catalyst, the kinds and amount of cocatalysts, temperature and pressure of polymerizations. The...
