Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) are a calss of anionic lamellar functional materials. They can be used as high activity catalysis, adsorption, separation, biology and medicine materials. Otherwise, they also display potential application in the fileds of optic, electrical and magnetical materials and can be used as chemical micro devices. The filming and immobilizing of functional LDH materials on some certain substrates would provide a novel route to fabricate optic, electrical, magnetical and catalysis reactor devices. In our work, the LDHs were immobilized on polystyrene, mica and aluminium substrates, respectively. The oriented filming and immobilizing manchanisms were investingated. For developping LDH monolithic catalysts, the catalysis activity of activated LDHs that immobilized on mica and LDH films on aluminium was studied by the self-condensation of acetone.
