Iron making and steel making process consists of chemical metallurgy process, solidification and physical of process metallurgy. To optimize the whole process, it should be kept to the principles of equipment optimization → region optimization → integer optimization. The techno-interface of BF-BOF region is an important stage that connects iron making procedure with steel making procedure in the production line, acting as a connecting link between the preceding and the following procedure. It is also the key region to optimize the iron making and steel making process as a whole. There have been a lot of researches on the region in recent years, but the researches are mainly based on engineering and technics, the researches based on resource, energy, environment, and sustainable development is just a little. The operation essence of iron making and steel making process is that material flow runs harmoniously by the promotion of energy flow. My dissertation, "Energy and environment analysis for techno-interface of BF-BOF process" will try to provide some useful reference for the region optimization and integer optimization.Based on the theory of operating dynamics, the essence of BF-BOF region has been analyzed. In the operating of BF-BOF region, BF plays a role of "pushing force" and BOF plays a role of "pulling force". The "pushing force" of BF is not only in terms of material pushing, but also of energy pushing. Dynamic feature of harmonious operation of BF-BOF is the homeostasis of "pushing force", "buffering force" and "pulling force". By application of the balance of the forces, the corresponding capacities of BF and BOF are calculated, and the harmony of the time schedule and buffering force changing rules have been analyzed.According to the types of hot metal transport equipment and methods of hot metal pretreatment, 7 modes of techno-interface have been induced: mode of BF tapping ladle-hot metal mixer-hot metal charging ladle, mode of BF tapping ladle-hot metal charging ladle, mode of BF tapping ladle or hot metal charging ladle and mode of hot metal desulfurization in hot metal charging ladle for small size BF-BOF process; mode of hot metal desulfurization in TPC, mode of hot metal de[S]-de[P] pretreatment in TPC and mode of de[Si] in BF tapping groove-TPC-de[S] in hot metal charging ladle-de[P] in special converter(short for de[P] in special converter) for big size BF-BOF process.Analyzing of operating schedule and temperature drop of hot metal in different techno-interface mode, a calculation model of techno-interface energy consumption and environment load was built.
