This research chose the nonmetallic mineral kaolinite as a substrate to prepare titanium dioxide (TiO2) photocatalyst, then changed its characteristics and modified its surface by doping. After modified with TiO2, kaolinite remains its flake appearance and physical chemistry characteristics. However, modification with TiO2 rendered the surface of kaolinite some new functions such as: photocatalysis, photo-biochemistry, photoelectricity conversion, etc. This meterial can be used in fine chemicals, engineering coating materials, building material ceramic, sanitary ware, engineering plastic, inside and outside filling materials and apparatus surface decoration and environment mineral materials . This research has particularly important signification for the development and application of ecotype green materials such as: disinfection, sterilization and air purification, humidity controlling materials, wasterwater treatment and also for the construction of economic and environment amity society. This dissertation can be divided into three parts: (1) Preparation, characterization and performance study of kaolinite substrate titanium dioxide (TiO2/Kaolinite) film. (2) Preparation, characterization and evaluation of transition metal doped TiO2/Kaolinite film. (3) Study on application and its mechanism of photocatalyitc degradation of AZO-dye wastewater from mica-pearl pigment industry. In this research, some fundamental issues about the preparation of TiO2/Kaolinite were systematically studied. Conditions in the process of preparation of kaolinite substrate nano-titania film were explored and optimized. The main factors that affect nano-TiO2/Kaolinite were emphatically studied. Two methods of doping, including transition metal ions doping and metal oxide doping, were designed. Microcosmic mechanism about doping and interface and surface reaction mechanism was analyzed. An efficiency photocatalytic degradation AZO-dye technique in the illumination of ultraviolet and sun-light was found. Molecular structure of AZO-dye and photocatalysis process was analyzed. Conclusions from this study are as follows: Part 1: preparation, characterization and performance study ofnano-TiO2/Kaolinite1. Many factors that affect nano-TiO2/Kaolinite photocatalytic active were inspected comprehensively and systematically. Factors that affect crystal phase and structure and photocatalytic activity of TiO2/Kaolinite such as: component ratio of precursor, mineral slurry concentration, hydrolysis temperature and time, drying temperature,...
