Unceasingly increases in the petroleum consumption quantity and the import quantity under the situation, vigorously develops by the coal generation of oil and makes the oil technology by the coal, the guarantee energy security, is the our country one item vital and the urgent duty. In under this spiritual instruction, in 1997 the Shenhua group proposed the construction coal liquefaction item tentative plan. In March, 2001, national authorization Shenhua coal direct liquefaction item suggestion project. In September, 2002, national authorized the Feasibility report. This item first production line will complete in July, 2007, about 2010 will complete the second production line.This article take the Shenhua coal liquefaction residual as the research basis, detailedly carried on the experiment of fuel characteristics of Shenhua coal liquefaction residual and the feasibility of slurry-makken. The pyrolysis and combustion characteristics are also studied using TGA/SDTA851 thermalgravimetric analyzer in this article. In this paper reported some experiment results on dynamic characteristic of sulfur release during coal liquefaction residual combustion. The excretion of Tar-N,HCN-N,NH3-N,Char-N as well as the distribution of Nitrogen in the Nitrogen containing fuel has hereby been studied. Based on the 410T/h power station boiler of cws, we carry out numerical simulation of the boiler of combustion, which will provide experimental and theoretical foundation for clean utilization of liquefaction residual.Firstly, based on the interlaboratory comparisons of petrography of liquefaction residues the microscopic component of Shenhua coal liquefaction residue was deeply studied. The concentration of CWS was measured use drop method, as well as the viscosity characteristics was studied use rolling viscosimeter.When design or run any combustion system the fuel characteristics must be taken as the foundation. The combustion and pyrolysis properties of Shenhua coal liquefaction residuals were studied with a thermalgravimetric analyzer.Secondly, based on the analysis of weight loss, dynamic characteristics of sulfur release during process of coal liquefaction residuals have been studied in the view of analytical chemistry. That includes the analysis of crystal contents by XRD and surface forms by SEM. The influence of the change of the temperature, time and size on the characteristic of calcinations and sintering was discussed thoroughly.Pyrolysis tests of Shenhua coal liquefaction residual were performed with a fixed bed pyrolytic reactor.Main attention was fixed on the factors such as temperature, stay time, reaction condition and particle size.
