Facing the practical problems when exploiting Lamadian gas cap reservoir, the law of flowing in porous medium displaced by fluid, type of barrier and effect of gel injection are researched on the base of existent results of others with the law of multiphase flow in porous medium, technology of physical simulation and numerical reservoir simulation. The research effort is as following:1. Equation about stabilization condition of oil-gas contact at the bottom hole and the other two formulas about how to compute the gas leakage rate in gas cap reservoir are derived from the law of multiphase flow in porous medium, and the ultimate oil production are calculated, which provides theoretical base for the development plan of gas cap reservoir.2. the law of multiphase flow in porous medium for gas cap reservoir are researched with physical simulation experiment, including the law of displacement of oil by water, oil by gas, gas by water and oil by gas, and the loss of crude oil invading into the gas-saturated area is evaluated.3. The development effects are researched when three different kinds of fluid: water, polymer and polymer gel regarded as barrier through physical simulation method in exploiting Lamadian gas cap reservoir. On the base of analyzing these factors, which influence development effects of barrier, including size of slug of water flooding, pressure of gas cap, recovery rate of oil, size of slug of polymer and polymer gel and its concentration, the best type of gel injection and effect of gel injection barrier were chosen.4. A 3-D three-phase numerical reservoir simulation software is programmed according to the law of fluid flow in porous medium in Lamadian gas cap reservoir, five different development plans are researched which include gas cap drive, oil-gas developing of reducing pressure at the same time, barrier water flooding, barrier polymer flooding and barrier polymer gel flooding with this software, the best barrier type and barrier plan were chosen.
