Study On Composite Extraction Distillation Separation Of Ethyl Acetate-Ethanol-Water Mixture

In this paper the applications of ethyl acetate in chemical industry, textile, coating, food, essence, et al., were summarized. From the literatures, the problems concerning the ethyl acetate production process, mainly film separation, liquid-liquid extraction, azeotropic distillation, salt extraction and extractive distillation, were introduced and analyzed with the view point of researches and applications. And the composite extractive separation (different extractive agents at different positions) of ethyl acetate-ethanol-water was proposed for the aims of simplified production technology, reduced energy consumption and ethyl acetate purity of above 99% with one extractive step.According to required conditions of extractive agents, all kinds of agents composed of single, binary, ternary components were summarized. Upon to shortages of systematic researches and comparisons of extractive agents, in the paper extractive agents were classified into twelve types from the interactions between molecules, electrostatic force, dispersion force, hydrogen bond, et al.. The effects of all kinds of extractive agents on separation of ethyl acetate-ethanol-water system were analyzed, and polybasic alcohol, water, carboxylic acid, amides and ketone were chosen as separation agents for ethyl acetate-ethanol-water system. A single-stage equilibrium pot was used to measure the vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data of ethyl acetate, ethanol, and water in all kinds of extractive agents. With measured data from the checked pot, the relative volatility was used as the selection index of extractive agents. Combined with other influencing factors, water was selected as extractive agent for ethyl acetate/ethanol system and glycerol for ethyl acetate/water system.VLE data of ethyl acetate-ethanol-water-solvent in the literatures were summarized systematically. There are only VLE data of ethanol-water, ethyl acetate-ethanol, and no VLE data of ethyl acetate-ethanol-glycerol and of ethyl acetate-ethanol-water-glycerol. So VLE data of ethanol-water, ethyl acetate-ethanol, ethyl acetate-ethanol-glycerol and ethyl acetate-ethanol-water-glycerol were measured with the gas-liquid equilibrium pot.
