More attention has been paid to such a problem by internal and external countries to active the industrialization of Fuel Cells by developing new type bipolar plate material and reducing its cost. In this paper, research was mainly done to prepare PF resin/graphite composite by dry mixing,low temperature and hot pressure molding formation on the basis of summarizing current research situations of bipolar plate material and preparation. It can fully use such advantages that molding formation is simple,PF resin is cheap and good quality graphite reserve is plentiful in China. In order to be practical, bipolar plate material must has properties of low cost,simple formation,good electrical and thermal conductivity,high density and anticorrosion on chemical environment.First, experimental research was done about cold and hot pressure molding formation. By comparing advantages and disadvantages of the two type of formation methods, dry mixing,low temperature and hot pressure molding formation was chosen for research. The product outside by wet mixing,cold pressure and low temperature molding formation shows that it has poor density, the color is not uniform and some cracks exits on the surface. Compared to wet mixing,cold pressure and low temperature molding formation, the product by dry mixing,low temperature and hot pressure molding formation has better outside quality and property. It was proved that by dry mixing,low temperature and hot pressure molding formation, it was relatively simple to mix PF resin and graphite uniformly. It was also showed that as composite mixture was curing under both certain temperature and certain pressure, the PF resin can easily flows to every direction, the graphite powder can be combined on all directions, a firm and uniform three dimensional structure can be formed, so the composite shows excellent comprehensive property.According to property demand on carbon filler/polymer bipolar plate by USA DOE, the bending strength and electrical conductivity were considered as major factor during the research. By uniform experiment which the parameters were regarded together and repeat experiment which single parameter was regarded, some parameters such as PF resin content,curing temperature,curing pressure and curing time were optimized so as to get best conducting property and best mechanical property.
