Polyethylene glycol (PEG) which know as green chemistry media has latent ability for industry application, so it is important to extend the using scope of this compounds for foundation research and industry. Herein we discuss the synthesis of metal nanoparticles and the application of metal nanoparticles in chemistry reactions with PEG as green chemistry media.1, Nano-Ag as an important metal nanoparticles has utility in many aspects, we synthesize the nano-Ag in PEG with simple bubbling of H2, and the nanoparticles were used to catalyze the three-component coupling reaction of aldehyde, alkyne, and amine with good to excellent yields in one pot. And there were conglomeration of silver nanoparticles after repeated reactions.2, Suzuki reaction catalyzed by nano-Pd is one of the most important green chemistry methods, but there was few report for preparation of heteroaromatic compounds with nano-Pd as catalyst. We synthesize the nano-Pd with PEG as solvent, reducer and template, and the nanocluster were used to catalyze the Suzuki cross coupling of aromatic heterocycles with arylboronic acids or heteroarylboronic acids under mild conditions to synthesize heteroaromatic compounds in one pot. All reactions were finished with good to excellent yields.3, The nano-Pd synthesized with PEG as solvent ,reducer and template were used to catalyze the selective aerobic oxidation of alcohols by using of molecular oxygen. When benzyl alcohol was employed the produce can be gotten through simple distillation under reduced pressure.
