At present, the development of coalbed methane reservoir is one of the issues that need urgent solutions. The paper took Hong ling Coal Mine as an example to research deeply the percolation mechanism and numerical simulation technology; combined with the current drilling technology to study the different types of well affected the exploitation of coal gas reservoir. The main achievements are as follows:(1)Deeply compared and analyzed similarity and distinction between the coalbed methane reservoir and the conventional coalbed methane reservoir. From the above work,we got the accumulation and the migration mechanism of the coal-bed methane. According to the accumulation types,got the mathematical equations of the reserve calculation,the desorption and the diffusion, which was the basis of percolation equations of coalbed methane reservoir.(2)Built the mathematical model of percolation on the coal-bed methane. Moreover, this paper explored the mathematical model of production performance simulation about the coalbed methane. Researched on the resolution of the models, give the fully implicit numerical resolution method.(3)Four development schemes of the coalbed methane reservoir: mainly as straight well, straight fractured well,horizontal well and the pinnate branch horizontal well, are presented. Took the cumulative production as the research goal,compared the four development modes,optimized the development mode in Hong ling coal mine. From the comparison and analysis: straight fractured well or pinnate branch horizontal well can make better effect for the exploitation of the coal-bed methane.(4)Based on the development scheme straight fractured well or pinnate branch horizontal well , the impacts of the different factors such as control area, permeability, wellbore pressure and thickness of the reservoir on production rate of the gas well are researched.(5)Researched the impacts of the controllable factors on the development effects in the Hong ling coal mine. In condition of altering the control production and the control pressure in bottom hole separately,drew the productivity charts of the straight fracture well and the pinnate branch well, which can see about the change of production capacity by the control and design parameter of well depth structure. It will be added in the exploration scheme of Hong ling coal mine.This paper referred to the situation of the Hong ling coalbed methane,obtained the optimize theories of the development method and development mode in coal gas reservoir, and applied these theories to the design of the development mode in Hong ling coal mine and got the satisfactory result which proved the theories of this paper as well as the utility value of those theories. This paper did a beneficial trial for the reasonable development of the coal gas reservoir.
