Study Of Environmental Defense Fund

Rapid development of modern science and technology brought serious environment problem,and even resulted in global environment crisis.Using the methodology of Sociology of Science and Philosophy of Science & Technology, taking the typical environment NGO(Non-government Organizations)--Environment Defense Fund as research object,employing statistical methods,SWOT analysis,this paper studied the ideological background,objective basis of the Environment Defend Fund,discussed its internal mechanism,characteristics and working modes, researched its projects in China and corresponding influence.Based on these analyses, the author reinspected the current situation of Chinese environment NGOs and put forward suggestions on the development of environment NGOs in China.Based on qualitative analysis and quantitative demonstration,this paper systematically researched the Environment Defend Fund,which is innovative and pioneering to some extent on the following points:1 ) The paper clearly explained the meaning and characteristics of environment NGO,and narrated the research object and research methodology.2 ) On the basis of ideological development of environment ethic and environment protection practice,the ideological background and objective basis of Environment Defend Fund were respectively analyzed.3 ) Taking the internal operation mechanism of Environment Defend Fund as the breakthrough point,this paper investigated its main characteristics,discussed the main problem Environment Defense Fund focused on and researched its income source and working modes.4) The paper provided an analysis of the necessity for Environment Defense Fund to develop projects in China.All the projects were grouped into categories and were discussed from the perspective of project overall situation and executive form. The influence of the achievements of these projects on China was analyzed from conceptual,strategic,institutional and practical point of view.5 ) Present situation of environment NGO in China was summarized and SWOT analysis was adopted to analyze the advantages,weakness,opportunities and threat of domestic environment NGO.Finally,Environment Defense Fund's operation characteristics and its working mode were discussed as well as its influence and revelation for China.
