In this paper, the porphyrin-C60 compounds that through the linkages from the meso-position of porphyrin and throughβ-position of porphyrin have been designed and synthesized. The new solar celles have been prepared with the TiO2 sensitized by the new porphyrin-C60 compounds and the photoelectron conversion properties have been studied.Six novel unsymmetric porphyrins with aldehyde groups in the terminal linkage have been synthesized by the condensation and etherification of aminophenylporphyrin. The porphyrin-C60 12 with the linkage through the meso- position of porphyrin has been synthesized by 1,3-dipolar cycloadditon of C60 and one of the unsymmetric porphyrins. The characterization of 7 has been implemented by the methods of 1H-NMR, IR, MS and UV-Vis spectra. Compared to the unsymmetric porphyrin precursor, 90% intermolecular fluorescence quenching of 12 has been detected in the fluorescence emission spectra, which indicates the photo induced electron separation.The stable porphyrin triphenylphosphine has been synthesized by formylation, reduction, chloromethylation and condensation of tetraphenylporphyrin. The unsymmetric porphyrin aldehyde 18 has been prepared then by the Witting reaction of porphyrin triphenylphosphine and diphenyl ether aldehyde, and the monocrystalline of 18 has also been obtained. Porphyrin-C60 compound 19 with the linkage through theβ-position has been synthesized and characterization by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of C60 and 18. The characterization of 19 has been accomplished by the methods of 1H-NMR, IR, MS and UV-Vis spectra. Compared to 19, 80% intermolecular fluorescence quenching of S0 has been detected in the fluorescence emission spectra, which indicates the photo induced electron separation.The solar cell which adopted I2/LiI as electrolyte has been prepared by the conformation of Pt electrod and TiO2 electrode made by the method of powder coating and sensitized by new synthesized porphyrin-C60 compounds 12 and 19. Compared to the bipyridine ruthenium solar cell, the new prepared solar cell shows very good properties by testing its I/V curve.The reaction of anthrancene and fullerene in room temperature has been systematically studied kinetically and thermodynamically mainly by mornitoring the 1H-NMR and UV-Vis spetral performance. The monoadduct of C60 and fullerene is highly thermodynamically stable while the stabilities of the bisadducts are lower. The cis-hemisphere is locked when the first addition has happened and all the bisadducts show trans-structures. The'6-6'C=Cs of the spheric surface of fullerene shows no distinctly differences when the di-cycloadditions happen while the anti-podal bisaddition is much harder to proceed.
