China is rich in coal resources and has proven reserves of 10242 G t. At present, coal accounts of China's total energy consumption is 67.2%, far higher than the world average Level of 26.2 %. It is estimated in the next few years coal will account for about 50% China's primary energy consumption, and the amount will be continuous growth. Studies on coal maceral composition, structure and properties have become a significant subject of the fundamental research of coal chemical, coal processing and utilization. Research on the structure and properties of different coal maceral can predict the various properties of coal processing and utilization, while the effective separation of coal maceral will push the clean and efficient use of coal to molecular level. In this work, the study is focused on the separation and the nature analysis of Datong coal maceral and the coal water slurry performance and macerals pyrolysis characteristics of Datong coal to get the relevant information of its effective utilization.First, the structure and properties of isolated coal maceral enrichment, containing primarily the pore volume concerning the water-coal-slurry performance, specific surface area, pore size distribution, organic functional groups, and the surfaceζ-potential were carried out on. The results showed that inertinite group has more pore volume and specific surface area than vitrinite; vitrinite contains more alkyl side chains and the cationic group, while the inertinite group contains more aromatic group and oxygen-containing functional group; inertinite group has a lower isoelectric point than vitrinite.Secondly, the enrichment was used to prepare coal samples with different coal maceral composition, which was used to prepare coal water slurry after grinding to basically the same particle size distribution, and then the relationship between composition of coal maceral and the slurry performance of coal water slurry was studied. The results indicated that slurry ability firstly increased and then decreased with both the increase of inertinite group content and decrease of vitrinite content, and a best inertinite proportion exists which can lead to the best slurryability. Finally, using the coal samples's thermo-gravimetric curve (TG) and thermo-gravimetric curve isothermal (DTG) by the the isothermal analysis, the coal sample's pyrolysis characteristic parameters of activation E, frequency factor A, reaction series n and so on, the effect of pyrolysis of pyrolysis dynamics equations of coal are attained.
