Three-Phase Induction Machines, one kind of important electromechanical product, are widely used in various fields, from industry, agriculture to household applications. Although with different mn-condition and standards, all of the production has some common demands, such as quality and the reliability. The study on the theories and the technique of their testing technology and reliability, i.e. the study on their testing method and devices, fault mechanism and fault diagnosis, reliability theories and reliability test, are very important to the estimate and improvement of their quality and reliability. Because that induction motor is one kind of long-life, repairable, complex item, its reliability test plans are different from that of others. In this paper, the distribution of the motors?failure rate is verified, the reliability indexes and the failures?Criterions are put forward, and the reliability test methods and their test programs are introduced. With the fault inspecting in factories, the manufacturers not only can confinn whether the capabilities of the motors are up to grade, but also can identify the recessive bugs that can make the early failures by some possibility, so that it抯 a main reliability screening test method of motors. In this paper, based on the analysis of the diagnosis methods and the motors?characteristics, a diagnosis model based on the parameter estimate and the diagnosis tree method is introduced. And based on Monte Carlo model, a method to ascertain the thresholds is put forward with a program. For improve the precision of diagnosis, and reduce the time and cost of test, a II non-toad test method is introduced to find the motors?capability. The test device has been developed with applied software. In this paper, the fault tree of motors is constructed, the main fault modes of motors and their fault mechanisms is analyzed, especially, the effects of inverters on induction motors?insulation system are studied, and then a detailed plan is put forward to ensure and improve the motors?reliability level.
