Engine is the main motive power for its efficient and easy energy using. In recent years, the research on clean alternative fuels is becoming an important direction of engine due to the shortage of the global petroleum resource and serious air pollution. CNG/Diesel dual fuel engine is generally acknowledged one of the most primary forms of alternative fuel engine. This paper has developed the dual fuel engine re-equip technology and theory model on the basis research of predecessors. The research gives the foundation for selecting the direction of dual fuel engine developing of China.Three different kinds of dual fuel engine have been studied in this paper, including mechanics controls of diesel and natural gas supply, electronic controls of natural gas supply and mechanics controls of diesel supply, electronic controls of diesel and natural gas supply. The test gets the main running parameters and performance parameters of dual fuel engine.A chemical reaction mechanism model has been established to simulate the combustion process in the cylinder of dual fuel engine. The pilot fuel model has been given to calculate the distribution of the liquid fuel and time of fuel pre-combustion, at the same time, analyzing the important action to the combustion of the natural gas in the combustion chamber of engine, determining the best quantity of pilot fuel. The explosive combustion model has been established to compute the pressure of the cylinder during the combustion, determining the main influence factors. The emission model has been established to forecast the CO, NOx emission. A distract model has been firstly established to simulate the turbulent flame propagation speed for the dual fuel engine in this paper.Finally, by using the soft of Matlab to compare with the data of experiment and computing of theory model, figures are given to evaluate the effect of the model and get the best fit running parameters of the test engine. It proves that the combustion model is very accurate to evaluate the dual fuel engine combustion process.
