Some projects have indicated that the mega-structure composite system is one of the most economic structural system .This structural system not only plays the roles of increasing the rigidity, simplifying the details, fully developing the behaviors of materials and decreasing the volume of materials, but also brings out the new style of architecture design and the flexible structural design. The reinforced concrete mega-frame structure is one kind of this system. The problems existing in reinforced concrete mega-frame structural system in practice are studied. In this paper, the study is focused on the following aspects:1. Study on the box-shaped joint experiment of reinforced concrete mega-frame structureAccording to the reinforced concrete structural design for the Sichuan Airlines tower, aiming at the mega-frame structural system, the failure mechanism and the earthquake resistant capacity of the joint between the tube column and the box-shaped beam are studied. Two joint models are tested. The joint specimens are one tenth of real size, and the numbers of data pots of measurement are almost 300. Some significant experiment phenomena are found in the course of data analysis. Though the tests, it is proved that the coupling beam designed by the ductility measure could not be used as the energy dissipation member in mega-box-shaped column. That is an important conclusion in this thesis.2. The analysis program for the box-shaped joint of the mega-frame structureIn order to simulate the mechanism and the load transmitting ways in the box-shaped joint of the mega-frame structure, the object -oriented technology is used in the developed FEM program. Considering to the characteristics of data structure of finite element, the tool classes (such as matrix vector class, template list class and tensor class) and the construction classes (such as analysis method class, node class, element class and material class) are included in the FEM program. And scanning line algorithm is used for the first time in displaying the plane and space isogram and nephogram. Through the FEM analysis, the shear lag of the stress distribution in the box-shaped beam of mega-frame are discovered. It has important direction significance to design of mega-frame beams.3. The seismic design and plastic hinge energy dissipation theory for reinforcedconcrete mega-frame structuresOn the basis of the result of the experiment and the result of the finite element calculation, the overall idea of the seismic conceptual design and the rational plastic hinge mechanism for reinforced concrete mega-frame structures are presented. Some conclusion with important reference value to design mega-frame structure has been proposed either.The software given in this thesis is compatible. The basis for adding element and extending system function later, especially extending non-linear function is established. The overall thinking of the seismic conceptual design and rational plastic hinge mechanism is the achievement of reinforced concrete mega-frame structures.
