Today, the health and economic sustainable development of human being is being threatened continuously by the energy shortage and the deteriorated environment. It is the only way to insure the craft of coal fire, which is friendly to environment, high efficiency and clean, that the detection and management of clean, high efficiency combustion procedure of boiler in power plant, which is the necessary device of energy industry and important polluter, is enhanced, the combustion status in boiler is optimized and the exhausting of contamination of combustion is decreased.In order to optimize the combustion status in boiler, it is necessary to detect combustion exactly and establish a combustion diagnosis and optimizing operation system based on detection. But, up to now, the detection of combustion is not adequately for a long time. The operating and adjusting of combustion is based on the parameters of steam and few parameters of flame, depending on the experience of operator. It can't be suit for the coal fired devices security production and environment protection.In this paper, using the CCD camera and computer multi-media technique, the visual combustion detection is studied to obtain directer and more adequate information of flame detection. Based on the traditional flame TV, with the tomography technology and method of solving inverse problem, the 3-D temperature profile has been reconstructed, then more efficient combustion diagnosis technologies have been developed.First, the technologies of measurement of temperature profile and the development of measurement of temperature profile based on image-processing technology are summarized, in this paper. The measurement of temperature profile based on image-processing technology, with the keystone of reconstructing the 3-D temperature profile using the tomography technology, have been studied on its principles and main technological procedure and troubles. The main problems of technology, which should be solved while the 3-D temperature profile is reconstructed, have been proposed.Then, the main technological procedure and troubles below, while the 3-D temperature profile is reconstructed, have been studied respectively:(1) the radiative character of media;(2) the procedure of projection image;(3) the procedure of transport of photons in 3-D complex media;(4) the solution of inverse problem.Last, two combustion diagnosis technologies, which are based on the analysis of cross-section thermal load before platen superheaters, according the information of flame in furnace, 3-D temperature profile measured and the analysis of operating parameters of boiler.The method presented in this paper is a novel combustion diagnosis technique. Not only do it provide the intuitionistic visual information of boiler flame, but also it can measure the temperature profile in boiler and provide operation indicating information for operator and manager of boiler in power plants. With the development of correlative subjects and deepening of apply in engineering, it will be improved continuously and provide powerful help for detection and management of combustion in boiler.
