The traditional consolidation theory has great limitation in solving saturated soft clay's deformation problem. Whether or not drink water during rebound after unloading for ooze has no uniform in engineering practice. The people must carry out research the consolidation properties of ooze. Based on many soil test using modified odemeter, the paper research the consolidation deformation properties of GuangXi marine ooze. Firstly the author modified the odemeter based on the predecessor's foundation and through the test. The test apparatus was proved to be perfect and can be used to solve the respecting problems. It proved that the samples have good quality by analyzing trouble influence and estimation methods, and understand the essence characteristic of marine ooze form physical and microstructure tests. Secondly the paper study permeability of marine ooze, and research the marine ooze's consolidation properties using elastic visco-plastic modeling, the test results show that EVP modeling can describe the marine ooze's deformation properties. The regulation of sucking water and deformation properties of ooze are researched in this paper. The marine ooze's rebound defamation existed critical unload ratio, When ooze's unload ratio is less than 0.3, rebound deformation doesn't happen; when ooze's unload ratio is more than 0.3, rebound deformation will happen and the water will be sucked. The water quality that is drawn back to the soils always less than 10% of the quality that leaves the soils during consolidation. The ooze's deformation after unloading is divided into primary rebound; secondary rebound and appending secondary consolidation deformation. Finally the paper analyzes ooze ground's deformation after unloading with the spot data, and forecasts the deformation of ooze foundation by the method that compute the appending secondary consolidation deformation.
