The construction of jacked-in piles is a widely-used technique of pile engineering at present. During the design and construction, special attention should be paid to the deformation of soil around the pile and the influence on the surrounding due to the construction of jacked-in pile. In this paper, based on some hypotheses, the displacement field due to the construction of jacked-in piles was comprehensively studied with the analytical method. Some useful conclusions were obtained. The main studies of this paper were as following:(1) The cavity expansion method is important method to analysis the problem of soil compaction. Based on existing research, the cavity expansion method is improved to consider the condition of semi-finite space. An analytical solution of displacement due to cavity expansion in semi-finite space was obtained.(2) Based on the analytical solution of cavity expansion in semi-finite space, the soil compaction caused by displacement-pile penetration was analyzed and the analytical solution of the soil displacement was obtained. Furthermore, the soil compaction effect caused by partially-displacement-pile penetration was investigated and the analytical solution of the soil displacement caused by partially-displacement-pile penetration was obtained. In addition, the influence of various factors on soil compaction was discussed.(3) The displacement caused by displacement-pile penetration in three boundary conditions was studied, such as: lateral rigid boundary, lateral freedom boundary and vertical rigid boundary. The solution of displacement due to soil compaction with displacement in the boundary was obtained. The influence of displacement boundary on the displacement of soil compaction was investigated.(4) Some simplification was made for the construction progress of pile group. Practical method to calculate the soil displacement acted by pile group was established. With this method, the soil displacement caused by construction of pile group was analyzed. The regulation of displacement variation in different sequence of piles penetration was compared.
