Traffic safety is a perpetual theme in the development of automobile traffic, with the rapid increase of vehicle population, road traffic accidents, particularly the high incidence of serious accidents; safety problems have become increasingly prominent. Intelligent vehicles emerged. It is the forefront of research in the field of vehicle engineering and refers to the vehicle engineering, artificial intelligence, automation, computers and other comprehensive technical fields theory .It is the future development trend of the vehicle. Security technology is a very important and essential component of intelligent vehicles. United States, Europe, Japan and other Western countries have the lead in security and Intelligent Vehicle Safety Driving Assist technology research ,they have put into much capital, manpower and other resources ,so a lot of valuable research results were gained .This article embarks from the vehicle active safety, has carried on some positive beneficial explorations in the vehicles safety ensure area of technology, the research goal is to develop one kind of Lane Departure Warning System basically drawing close to the practical ness and provide the theoretical and technical support for our country Automotive Safety Driving Assist System。Based on China's automobile traffic situation and technical conditions, the miniature van which purchased by the Jilin University intelligence vehicles topic group was taken as the experimental study platform, the lane marking line identification and tracking has been researched systematically and in depth for different light conditions, the thorough research under the different illumination condition has also discussed the road image illumination pattern classifier design and a Lane Departure Warning Model establishment in this foundation, the final road test indicated that the Lane Departure Warning System has a better performance.1.
