The prestressed cable anchor-pile sheet wall is a light retaining structure which was widely used in the past twenty years for on-steep slope and high embankment protection and is rapidly developing at present in the geotechnical engineering realm. As this structure is featured with safety, reliability, less construction cost and applicability, it has been successfully adopted in the railway, highway and other engineering works by more and more engineering technicians. However, its design calculation method are not set up, and a series of fundamental theory and construction technology, including structural internal forces calculation, earth pressure distribution dimensions, interaction mechanism of the cable anchor-pile-slab-soil fill, the reasonable construction technology is not solved completely, its theoretical research lags behind its applications greatly. The experiment site of the prestressed cable anchor-pile sheet wall lies in the on-steep slope-high embankment section of the KunMing-BangKok highway international passage. The overall test were made there by means of various methods, such as using the soil pressure cell, pressure gauge and steel bar stress detector, etc., for testing the earth pressure acted on the pile sheet, simultaneously for testing the stress of steel bar in the pile sheet, for observing the prestresses of the cable anchor, and using the inclinatorium and GPS totalstation for observing the displacement of the piles and a great number of detailed testing data are acquired. Then the site testing data are analyzed, summarized and abstracted and theoretical research has been performed as followers, which can be used for reference of establishing the specifications of scientific design and construction technology as quickly as possible.A discussion has been performed on the calculation method of earth pressure of cohesive soil on an embankment retaining structure using the strip and band limit equilibrium theory.Some corresponding formula has been put forward after the principles of the geo-grids reducing earth pressure on a high embankment retaining structure are discussed in detail according to the friction principle of reinforcement using the...
