Permanent magnet brushless DC motors have features of saving energy, high energy density, well dynamic characteristic and control simpleness, they have been applied to ships propulsion, aviation actuators, industrial drives and controls, household applications and now they are being studied applied to railway traction. The dissertation research the electromagnetic parameters, electromagnetic performance and electromagnetic design of permanent magnet brushless traction motors, and study the effects of different material and structure of permanent magnet rotors on motors parameters. The mathematics model considering IGBT characteristics and faults model of permanent magnet brushless traction motor are established. A prototype of 30kW permanent magnet brushless DC motor and control system was fulfilled, and experiments are carried out.The dissertation study the armature reaction of burshless DC motors equipped with surface-mounted permanent magnets, and gain the discipline of armature reaction at different rotor position. The research of effects of permanent magnet magnetization direction on air-gap magnetic field show that the amplitude of air-gap magnetic field of brushless DC motor with permanent magnets magnetized radically is greater than that...
