Study On The Structure And Images Of Landscape Planting

As an important element in Landscape design, the vegetation plays a very important role in forming beautiful scenery with landform, water and architecture. It is paid more attention on landscape planting with the development of Ecology. Landscape planting becomes the main measure in setting up the landscape spaces and important layer of landscape planning and design.This study is focus on the general structure of landscape planting and tries to analyze the composition of planting spaces. The image of planting space is indicated through district, path, node and landmark. Also with studying on the different planting styles in history, the author tries to conclude the characters of different styles and explore the structure behind them. It has significant meaning to study the style and design the new landscape with more cultural and stylish characters in future. Another aim of the study is escaped from the traditional way to study vegetation as the solid elements, not as the spatial elements. It is necessary to change the landscape planting from decoration planting to spatial and structural planting.This dissertation takes approach as analogy analysis, epagoge analysis and case study. The dates used in this paper are from maps and photos which the author took from Europe and orther countries. By using the photos from Googlearth, it is a new way for us to analyze the structure of landscape planting.According to the Topology, the author study on different landscape planting styles in the history of Landscape Architecture, including the Ancient , Medical , Renaissance, Baroque, Picturesque and Gardensque , Arts and Grafts , Modern and Naturalistic Planting Design.The spatial planting design is the key aspect of this paper. The author study the concept of space and discuss the differences between the Oriental Gardens and Western Gardens. Also it is indicated the characters, images and structure of planting space through the form, defining elements, types and constructing method.Considering the nature is the resource of planting design, the author analyze the structure of nature itself form a new view. As an example of Hua-Mu-Gou National Forest Park, the figure and structure of natural landscape are influenced by natural force and factors. It has tightly relationship between diversity and similarity in natural landscape.
