More and more nuclear waste was produced with the development of nuclear industry. The best way to dispose low and middle-level nuclear waste is to fill it in soil. Then, which kinds of soil can adsorb the nuclides well? What factors can influence the sorption properties of the soil? And what is the sorption mechanism? Aimed at these problems, this paper studied the adsorption capability of the soil of a primary election nuclear waste disposal in Mianyang to Sr, Cs and U. The author established some adsorption models and ascertained the adsorption mechanism of Sr, Cs and U in the soil. So as to we can apply science basis for the disposition of the nuclear waste. The author consulted a lot of data about soil adsorption and investigated the hydrogeochemical characteristics. Based on these, the author designed a suit of experimental device and established a suit of sorption experiment method. The research methods of adsorption experiment are batch technique and column method. As the experiment course simulated by column method are in the similitude of field practical situation, the main research method is column method in this article. The influence of pH values, flux, granularities of the soil, concentration of Sr, Cs and U initial solution on the adsorption properties were also studied by column method. The sorption models of Sr, Cs and U were established respectively and the sorption mechanism was studied. The author compared the sorption properties of Sr,Cs,U and appraised the sorption effect of the three nuclides in the soil. The author discovered the sorption mechanism of Sr,Cs,U in the soil. The minerals which adsorb strontium well are montmorillonite and feldspar. The soil can adsorb strontium through ion-exchange and surface complexation. The mineral which adsorb cesium well is montmorillonite. The soil can adsorb cesium through ion-exchange .The mineral which adsorb uranium well is mainly montmorillonite. The soil can adsorb cesium uranium through ion-exchange, surface complexation and complex between layers.Based on the sorption mechanism of Sr,Cs,U in the soil ,we know that pH values, flux, granularities of the soil and concentration of strontium and cesium solution all can influence the sorption effect. The initial mass concentrations of uranium influence the sorption effect of uranium in the soil badly. From the account of the models, the author find the sorption capability of the soil to cesium is the best, the sorption capability of the soil to strontium is good and the sorption capability of the soil to uranium is not well.
