From the viewpoint of social culture, technology and art, and based on the full research on the historical facts, the paper analyzes the relationship between EXPO architectures and the development of social culture, technology and art, and sums up the features of EXPO architectures in each period. Then a triarchic value system-social culture, technology and art field is brought forward. The paper figures out how 2010 EXPO architectural practice should relaize any of the three main value fields. In the end, the problems of China pavillions are found by contrast with advanced countries' pavillions. By the analysis of reasons, the paper puts forward some strategies of improving the art and technology standard of China pavillion. The paper is included of five chapters as following:Chapter 1 summarizes the evloving of EXPO and exlpores the content and value of the paper, besides explains the foundamental implication of EXPO architectures. This chapter is the introduction and the overall statement of the paper.Chapter 2 thinks EXPO as an improtant medium and carrier of modern information from the viewpoint of social culture and dissemination. By analysing the relation between EXPO and international modern social culture diffusion, EXPO and local culture diffusion, EXPO architectures and power culture, EXPO architectures and modern multi-cultural, the paper argues that EXPO helps to develop international modern social culture and undertaking nation's and city's local culture; EXPO architectures enbodies the country's power culture and power image and modern multi-cultural; Being an tool of exhibiting culture ideas and technology progress, EXPO architecture together with site planning and items on display have recorded the change of international social culture forms, wakeup of national consciousness, culture crisis caused by globalization and dismissing the sustainable development idea.Chapter 3 focuses on the evolution disciplinarian of EXPO building form under the progress of technology in the view of morphology. Been applied by virous building technology, EXPO buildings form has changed and reflected the progress of techonlogy.Chapter 4 explores the interaction of EXPO architectures and modern art and aethetics by contrasting the evolution of EXPO architectures with the development of modern art and aethetics. Chapter 5 puts forward a triarchic value system—social culture, technology and art value-- on the basis of above chapters and denies that any single value system could go beyong the others in the complicate and plural architecture practices. Besides how 2010 EXPO architectural practice should relaize any of the three main value fields is figured out. Then by reading the China pavillions in history, it is found that China pavillions lack in advanced technology, architecture meaning and art. The paper analyzes the reasons from social psychology, technology and art and put forward some tactices in corresponding fields.
