With the widely development of parabolic trough solar thermal power technology in the world, the parabolic trough solar thermal power technology is becoming gradually matured. Parabolic trough solar thermal power technology is developing, popularizing and utilizing in China. Parabolic trough solar thermal power plant site selection is the precondition of constructing the parabolic trough solar thermal power plant, the quality of parabolic trough solar thermal power plant site selection will direct influence the grant of financial aid and operational status and so on. How to select the site of parabolic trough solar thermal power plant by scientific and effective method is not only urgently need to be solved problem but also the base of developing parabolic trough solar thermal power technology in future in China.The resource of solar energy irradiation is the most important influence factor to parabolic trough solar thermal power plant site selection. The resource condition of solar energy at different place is the precondition of constructing the parabolic trough solar thermal power plant, and how to get the valid solar energy irradiation data is the precondition of knowing about the solar energy resource at different places. According to comparing different instrument for testing solar energy resource, the relative accurate instrument was chosen. The solar energy resource at three typical places in Inner Mongolia was tested by the relative accurate instrument. The data of one year's testing on site was be collected, correlation analysis was done among data from testing on site, data from satellite scanning, data from theory calculation. Based on the data of theory calculation, the data from testing on site and the data from satellite scanning were processed by the theory of linear transformation and regression, the regression equation was gotten, which will offer the estimation data similar to testing data on site for the place which the solar energy resource data can not be gotten.As above mentioned, the solar energy resource assessment is the precondition of parabolic trough solar thermal power plant constructing, according to the national standard for meteorological-"the evaluation method of solar energy resource"the solar energy resource at different places was evaluated by the testing data on site, the correlation conclusion was be gotten, at the same time the method of applying the statistical theory for evaluating the solar energy resource was proposed at the first time, the method is valid by inspect and verify of instance.If parabolic trough solar thermal power plant can be effectual developed in China, which can demonstrate the parabolic trough solar thermal power technology in China, selecting reasonable parabolic trough solar thermal power plant site is the critical factors. Applying science site selection method will benefit to utilization of parabolic trough solar thermal power technology in China in future. Now there is not a reasonable standard for parabolic trough solar thermal power plant site selection. According to the technical requirement and operating condition of parabolic trough solar thermal power plant, the index systems of parabolic trough solar thermal power plant site selection was determined , the weight of index was analyzed by instance, the corresponding functional relation was be gotten, which will offer the basis for the parabolic trough solar thermal power plant site selection.The results from the present research shows, according to the national standard for meteorological-"the evaluation method of solar energy resource", the whole evaluation of solar energy resource by applying the statistical theory can offer the optimal evaluation result, which has important actual significance for solar energy utilization and parabolic trough solar thermal power plant site selection. On the other hand according to analyzing the technical requirement and operating condition of parabolic trough solar thermal power plant, the index systems of parabolic trough solar thermal power plant site selection was determined by hierarchical theory, the result shows that the analysis method is scientific reasonable and valid. Combined fixed amount with determine the nature method, the weight of different parabolic trough solar thermal power plant site selection index and corresponding functional relation were be gotten, which offer the basis for the parabolic trough solar thermal power plant site selection.
