This study investigated the effects of chromium on energy, protein and lipid metabolism and action mechanism in broilers with CrCI3, Cr-Clly, Cr-Pie at 0.4 and 4mg/kg level (as Cr). Five hundred 1 -day broilers were fed separately after sex identification. At ten-day old, 420 selected broilers with an equal number of males and females were randomly assigned to the following treatment: control, 0.4mg/kg CrCI3, 4mg/kg CtCI3, 0.4mg/kg Cr-Gly, 4mg/kg Cr-Gly, 0.4mg/kg Cr-Pie and 4mg/kg Cr-Pie with six replicates at the equal number of males and females, ten broilers each . The experiment was divided into two phase, 3-6 weeks and 7-8 weeks. At six and eight weeks, metabolic experiment and slaughter experiment were conducted to evaluate the effects of chromium on energy, protein and lipid metabolism and deposition in broilers. The results indicated:1.Effects of chromium on growth performance and carcass characteristics in broilers. The results indicated: 1) For various chromium source, Cr-Pie and Cr-Gly significantly increased FT and ADO at 3-6 weeks than CrCI3 (pczlJ.05).And Cr-Pie markedly enhanced FT and ADO at 7-8 weeks (p<0.O5) and FT at 3-8 weeks (p
