With the high development of social economy, especially pushed by the progress of industrialization, wild flora resources have been reduced at unprecedented speed.Many species of wild plants are endangered and become extinct. The ecological environments are severely destroyed in wild licorice distributed areas, many of them become desert. For the purposes of sustainable utilization and development of resources in resource ecology, using the theories of artificial neural network, model theory, market investigation of resource ecology, plant chemistry and non-linear ecology, by the adopted methods of Wavelet, BP neural network, continuous-time Markov, enquiry investigation and high-efficiency capillary electrophoresis, according to the characteristics of distribution and market consumption of licorice in China, the project I participated covers the researches on the spatial distribution, overall resource features, the conditions of man-made cultivation, market consumption, market tendency and the quantity of licorice effective ingredients of licorice resources in China and makes general evaluation towards licorice resources in accordance with the present states of licorice resources, usages and consumptions. The research also identifies the licorice resource distribution, quantity, quality, growth and decline, the influence of licorice market consumption on licorice resource variation, geographical difference of licorice effective ingredients and dynamic variation tendency of licorice population. etc. The research project, at the first time, involves the distributed areas, quantity, quality, population dynamic, resource growth and decline, simulation and pre- evaluation towards endangered states of licorice resources by~ the adopted technologies of Wavelet, BP neural network and CTM ecological models. On the basis of analyzing licorice resource states, the colTesponding strategy of protecting licorice resource in China and the basic ways dealing with optimizing deployment of licorice resources and environmental protection were proposed to rationally exploit natural resources, establish resource-information systems and supply the convenient implements for resource development. The scientific evidences are also provided for timely adjustment of ecological system, compiling exploited resource program and guiding macro-strategy.
