The important symbol for agricultural modernization is the application of information technology, which has been challenging the traditional farming delegated by the computer use. Expert system applicable to agriculture has been a new field focus by people, and in my study intelligent dairy Management system was developed by combination of expert system, mathematical model, and database management in realistic farm production. The aotumatic mangement, diet optimal calculation and expert diagnosis were carried out with the software.The research was involved in three parts:The module of cow production management has three functions: cow individual information management, production task controlling and cow potential problem diagnosis. The rationality of database structure is the main problem for cow information management because of the system functions determined by their structures. The relationship among sheets of database was designed logically in order to deal with lots of various data in the farm. The production task controlling function was implemented by calculating the span between system time and manufacture incidents such as calf weanling, estrus detect, service, and parturition. The bottleneck of expert system applicable to dairy management is the method for knowledge representation, which determined whether the expert system would succeed to apply to the field. Further, based on correct knowledge representation, the right reasoning strategy can be used. In this study the modified heuristic rule knowledge representation was adopted storing domain expertise, which stemed from DHI procedure. Then the rule base was built. The way of inference used forward chains reasoning according to a large number of cows' records. The conclusions came from analysis of original untapped data, which made them more reliable.The second part is the optimization for cow feeds formulation. The system adopted two kinds of mathematical models, which are the general linear programming and fuzzy linear programming standing for the two current trends. But the feeds formulation models are pure mathematic calculation and the formula with lowest costs does not always bring the most profits to farm production. The lower price of formula was calculated, the poorer quality feed was selected in the models. So the mathematical modules only have assistant operation not instead of nutritionists.The system assistant learning, which provided some sub-systems to help solve producing problems, is the last. The type linear traits gained wide spread acceptance in recent years in modern farm, which was designed in the system with method score database and calculating program linked to the foregoing cow information management. The cattle breed records stored media and words knowledge in order to be learned and consulted for users. A lot of puzzled problems in cow feeding were summarized and stored in database together with the answers. The system provided fuzzy consultation with key words to help the farmer overcome the difficulties in reality. The cow accurate nutrients requirements can be evaluated by nutritional models calculation when the feeding environment has changed. Accordingly, a mass of empirical cow formulation were collected and stored in database, then recommended range of feed in diet can be given, and practical formula directly be chose to use for users from the system according to different animal or nutrient levels.The task of the system designed, program compiled and debugged have been accomplished by the detail study. The project named the intelligent dairy management system was beneficial efforts for cow information and intelligence management.
