Catharanthus roseus is a kind of perennial herbaceous plant or subshrub of the Catharanthus in Aocynaceoe. The whole grass can be used as medicine. The life cycle characters of the plant which was living under different habitats, such as the growth state, morphological character, metabolism process and product, biomass allocation was studied systematically. The life cycle forms of the plant were divided by means of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis respectively according to its habitat characteristic and phenotype character. At the same time, the forming mechanism of the research object was discussed. The results showed as followed.1. Soil factor was the leading factor that influenced upgrowth of Catharanthus roseus. Water content of soil and organic matter content of soil among all soil of the physicochemical properties influenced the upgrowth of the plant greatly.2. The morphology characteristics of Catharanthus roseus were divided into vegetative growth characters, sexual reproduction growth characters, and asexual growth characters. And asexual growth of the plant, as life cycle characters which reflected on its life cycle process was listed separately. Affected by habitat heterogeneity, Catharanthus roseus living in different habitats differed greatly from each other at morphology characteristics of vegetative growth, sexual reproductive growth and asexual growth. The vegetative organs of low-grade disturbed Catharanthus roseus were the most developed, and its sexual growth was normal, but its asexual growth was suppressed obviously. High-grade disturbed Catharanthus roseus was disturbed seriously by badly habitat and artificial disturbance, which resulted in vegetative growth and sexual reproduction growth suppressed obviously and activity of asexual growth comparatively. Semi-wild Catharanthus roseus''s sexual growth was the most activity, and its vegetative organs was normal development , but asexual growth was suppressed obviously . The tectorial cultivated Catharanthus roseus's growth of vegetative organs and sexual reproductive organs after improving the culture condition were superior to that of non-tectorial cultivated And the tectorial cultivated Catharanthus roseus's asexual growth was suppressed obviously, but the asexual growth of non-tectorial cultivated Catharanthus roseus was not activity.3. Catharanthus roseus belongs to photophilous plant, and it has relatively strong ability of photosynthesis in every habitas. low-grade disturbed Catharanthus roseus had the strongest ability of photosynthesis, and seml-wild-Catharanthus roseus's ability of photosynthesis was weaker than low-grade disturbed Catharanthus roseus's by contrast, and high-grade disturbed Catharanthus roseus had the weakest ability only. At the same time, tectorial cultivated Catharanthus roseus's the ability of photosynthesis was stronger than non-tectorial cultivated Catharanthus roseus's obviously.4.There was a certain trade-off relation of choosing during the course of growing indifferent life cycle phase to plant individual of Catharanthus roseus species. Compared with the distribution relation on biomass under different habitats, low-grade disturbed Catharanthus roseus had the biggest biomass assignment on vegetative organs. Semi-wild-Catharanthus roseus had the biggest value of RA. High-grade disturbed Catharanthus roseus had the highest proportion of mass assignment on the asexual growth organ, such as asexual sprouting. Tectorial cultivated Catharanthus roseus's allocation proportion on vegetative organs and sexual reproductive organs was higher than the culture-one-Catharanthus roseus's, but the allocation proportion on asexual growth organ was lower than the non-tectorial cultivated Catharanthus roseus's.5. The forming and distribution of total flavone content and vinblastine were influenced by different habitat terms and seasonal variation. The total flavone content related to sexual reproduction course of Catharanthus roseus. Suitable stress is advantageous to the formation and the accumulation of vinblastine in the Catharanthus roseus.6. The life cycle of Catharanthus roseus was divided into many forms, low-grade disturbed Catharanthus roseus is VS types, high-grade distured Catharanthus roseus is CS type, Semi-wild-Catharanthus roseus is S type, tectorial cultivated Catharanthus roseus is SV types, non-tectorial cultivated Catharanthus roseus is SC types, by means of qualitative division method of habitat type and quantitative division method of primary composition analysis.7. The form mechanism of Catharanthus roseus's life cycle forms showed as followed. Habitat condition and interfering extent formed the heterogeneity that was the main external cause to form the life cycle forms of the plant of Catharanthus roseus. The plasticity of the life cycle properties of Catharanthus roseus was the main material bases of shaping the life cycle forms. The energy in vivo of Catharanthus roseus was weighted in the input among different properties, thereby formed the variety of the life cycle forms of the plant. The whole life cycle properties of different kinds of the life cycle forms of Catharanthus roseus, such as phenotype characteristic, biologic mass assignment, physiology biochemical course (photosynthesis physiology), the forming and transformation and accumulation of secondary metabolism outcome etc, demonstrated to be relatively single-minded characteristic.
