Water is the most important part of life, and it has large influence to the growth of crop. To the body of vegetation itself, water is the main raw material of photosynthesis and has signality to the growth of vegetation. So the content of the vegetation water can directly shows the status of vegetation. The monitoring the vegetation leaf water began with the fire anticipates in the forest and grassland, and it also reflects the soil water content of local area, which is a main index to the drought. Water is the source of life and it can mostly impact the growth of vegetation. With the development of satellite's and sensor's technology, the research on mechanism of remote sensing is going in-depth and the theory and method of resolving vegetation water are also progressing further. Using the MODIS data, this research analyses the relation between the vegetation water and rainfall/relative water humidity. By contrasting with the disaster report of china meteorological administration (CMA), the possibility of drought monitoring using the vegetation water is made and the precision of monitoring productions is evaluatedThis article firstly reviewed the course of vegetation water inversion of remote sensing, and analyzed several theories and methods, from which the GVMI model is deemed to be independent of the species of vegetation. Aiming at the defect of NOAA datas, the MODIS data is applied into the GVMI model and several ameliorations are done. Using this model, the maps of distribution of vegetation water in 2003 and 2004 from April to July are done. Contrasting with the rainfall and soil water content data at the corresponding period, relation analysis is worked. For the lag of absorption of rain and adjustment of vegetation itself, the effect of rainfall to the vegetation is often delayed about 10 days. The result of research shows that there has strong correlation between vegetation water content and soil water content, and the same between vegetation water content anomaly and relative soil humidity. Considering the drought is a result of water absent accumulation, a model of accumulation scheduling is made, which can estimate the status of drought more accurately. Lastly this article attempt to...
