| Objective Liver cancer has become the world’s fifth most common malignant tumors, the incidence of liver cancer in China, has become the fifth in men, while ranked sixth in women; it’s mortality rate is second in men, while fifth in women. So the liver cancer in China is now one of the most malignant tumors second only to lung cancer and gastric cancer, annual incidence and deaths were approximately in 50 million and 40 million and continue to increase the trend, molecular biological markers of liver cancer research, for the prediction of the prognosis and new treatment targets of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). kruppel-like factors,KLFs,is a class having a zinc finger transcription factor of structure, the typical features of the structure is at the carboxyl terminus has three C2H2 zinc finger structure,widely involved in cell proliferation, apoptosis and differentiation of regulation. KLFs not only in the physiological process has an important role, recent studies found that it also plays an important role in the tumorigenesis and progression of the process, the new members of the KLF family KLF17 has been in a variety of tumors is proved for a tumor suppressor gene, downregulation of the expression and the tumor metastasis recurrence related. The expression of KLF 17 in gastric cancer, lung cancer and breast cancer tissue was lower than that in normal tissue, and the patients with high KLF17 expression in tumor tissue had longer survival time. In previous studies, it was found that KLF 17 could prevent the epithelial mesenchymal transition in HCC cell lines, thus influnce the invasion and migration of hepatocellular carcinoma cells. To further study KLF 17 in hepatocellular carcinoma, first study the KLF 17 function in the primary hepatoma carcinoma cells. Secondly study the relationship between expression and prognosis in patients with KLF 17 in hepatocellular carcinoma protein levels.Method and Result To study the mechanism of metastasis and recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma by KLF17:the Hep11 and Hep12 cell lines were isolated from the primary tumor and the recurrence and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma patients. KLF17 score 0 to 2 points OS was 35.2+4.2 months (95% confidence interval 27.0-43.4 months) 3 to 5 OS was 46.9+3.2 (95% confidence interval 40.1-53.2 months). KLF173-5 points and 0-2 DFS and OS were significant sex difference (P<0.05).
