Part OneObjective To provide anatomical data of IVC for the operation of the infra-renal segment of IVC. Methods The infra-renal segment of IVC of 42 adult cadavers were anatomized and measured. Results The length of infra-renal segment of IVC was 13.03±1.76cm, and the width was 2.34±0.33cm. The number of vein branches from infra-renal segment of IVC was 8.74±2.02, 66.3% of the branches on the anterior wall of the IVC, and 66.3% of the branches on the upper segment of the infra-renal segment of IVC. The right gonadal vein on the anterior wall of the IVC in 83.3% of the specimens with a distance of 3.56±0.85cm to the level of left renal vein. There were not any ascending lumbar veins in the all specimens. The lumbar veins connected with azygosveins or hemiazygosvein in 28.6% of the specimens and were not twin. The number of lumbar veins not to equate to the number of lumbar arteries. Conclusions The vein branches from the infra-renal segment of IVC were more and complicate, to notice the anterior wall and the upper segment of the infra-renal IVC in the operation. The right gonadal vein was a clinical sign for its natural position. The ascending lumbar vein was not existent, the concept about lumbar veins was not positive.Part TwoObjective To investigate the cardiac hemodynamics following suprarenal ligation of the IVC/ and the resection of the right kidney or injection of ligustrazine in rats. Methods To detect heart rate, election fraction, cardiac output, stroke volume, arterial pressure at 1 st,46th, 24th 48th hour after the suprarenal ligation of the IVC / and the resection of the right kidney or injection of ligustrazine. Results Cardiac output decreased and arterial pressure fell following the suprarenal ligation of the IVC, but compensated completely at 48th hour after the operation. All rats in this group survived during the study period. Cardiac output decreased and artierial pressure fell measurably following the suprarenal ligation of the IVC and resection of the right kidney, were not compensated completely at 48th hour after the operation, some rats died in this group. Cardiac output decreased and artierial pressure fell following the suprarenal ligation of the IVC, but compensated quickly at 24th hour after the operation, all rats survived in this group. Conclusions Cardiac funtion was affected by low returned blood volume following the suprarenal ligation of the IVC, but compensated completely at 48th hour after the operation. The suprarenal ligation of the IVC and resection of the right kidney, which not only increased the operative difficulty but also reduced cardiac functional compensation and appeared the death of rats were not appropriate. The suprarenal ligotion of the IVC and injection of ligustrazine can improve cardiac funtion of the experimental rats. We suggest to ligate the suprarenal IVC after resecting the tumor and infiltrated IVC and inject ligustrazine, not to resect nomal right kidney. To infuse solution by upper limb in early phase after the operation in order to increase returned blood volume. Part ThreeObjective To investigate the renal function flowing suprarenal ligation of the IVC / and the resection of the right kidney or injection of ligustrazine in rats. Methods To measure blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (SCr), urine NAG / 24hrs, urinary output / 24hrs and to detect renal pathology at 6th hour, 12th hour, 24th hour, 2nd day, 3th day, 4th day, 5th day, 7th day after the suprarenal ligation of the IVC / and the resection of the right kidney or injection of ligustrazine. Results The levels of BUN, SCr, urine NAG / 24hrs rose and there were congestion and many cast in the kidneys. Following the suprarenal ligation of the IVC. Returned to nomal renal pathology at 3th day after operation, BUN, SCr returned to nomal levels at 4th day, urine NAG / 24hrs returned to nomal level at 5th day after aperation.
