Objective Analysis of the distribution patterns of 17 trace elements in the nuclei, mitochondria, lyosome, microsome and cytosol of human hepatocellular carcinoma by using modern nuclear techniques as neutron activation analysis (NAA).Methods The distribution pattern of 17 elements in subcellular fractions of human hepatocellular carcinoma was studied by differential centrifugation combined with NAA, then compared to the human liver with t-test.Results The most ratio of dry weight of subcellular fraction of hepatocellular carcinoma is cytosol, 17 trace elements are distributing asymmetry in subcellular fraction. Most trace elements are not significantlydifference between hepatocellular carcinoma and liver. However, Ca and Ce are higher significantly, Sb and Zn were lower in nuclei of hepatocarcinoma than liver (P <0.05 P <0.01 P <0.05 P <0.01); Br Sm Ca Ce and Cs were higher, Mo and Sb were lower in mitochondria of hepatocarcinoma than liver (P<0.01, P<0.05 P<0.05. P<0.05. P<0.05,P<0.05 P<0.05) ; Br, Ca and Cs were higher in lyosome of hepatocarcinoma than liver( P <00.001 P <0.05 ,P<0 .05, ); Br, Ca Cs and Se were higher, K La Ce and Fe were lower significantly in microsome of hepatocarcinoma than human liver (P <0.01 P <0.01 P<0.05, P <0.05, P <0.01, P <0.05,P <0.01 和 P <0.05 ); Br, Na, Ca and Cs were higher in cytosol of hepatocarcinoma than human liver (P <0.01 P<0.05 P<0.05 and P <0.05 ).Se were higher in nuclei and mitochondria of hepatocarcinoma than paracarcinoma; Zn were higher in all of subcellular fraction of hepatocarcinoma than paracarcinoma; Fe were higher in nuclei and mitochondria of hepatocarcinoma than paracarcinoma; Ca were lower in nuclei, mitochondria , lysome and microsome of hepatocarcinoma than paracarcinoma, however ,were higher in cytosol. Conclusion Trace elements in subcellular fraction of hepatocellular carcinoma were difference with human liver and paracarcinoma, it suggested trace elements play the important role in the occurrence and development of hepatocellular carcinoma.
