Methods Mouse breast cancer cells (MCF-7) were implanted to the breast of 24 mouse to establish the breast cancer xenografts , Then the 24 mouse were randomized into 4 groups, (1)PBS group;0.1ml PBS was injected into the tumor daily for one week;(2)AdCD/5-FC group:0.1ml AdCD(108PFU) was injected into the tumor with intravenously injection of 5FC 500 mg/kg daily for one week; (3) XRT group: The tumor was irradiated 2GY daily using Co-60 sauce for three days; (4) AdCD/5-FC+XRT group: 0.1ml AdCD(108PFU) was injected into the tumor with intravenously injection of 5FC 500 mg/kg daily for one week , During the later three days the tumor was irradiated 2GY daily using Co-60 sauce. Then measured the tumor volume every other day and drew the tumor growth curves of each group. Results :(1) PBS group: tumor growth progressed; (2) AdCD/5-Fcgroup: tumor growth delayed ; (3) XRT group: tumor growth delayed;(4) AdCD/5-FC+XRT group: tumor growth delayed significantly(P<0.05); Conclusion Suicide gene therapy(AdCD/5-FC) enhances the therapeutic efficacy of radiotherapy alone, It indicating a potential usefulness in the treatment of patients with breast cancer. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Breast cancer, suicide gene, radiotherapy, gene-therapy, radio-sensitization. | | Related items |
