DAXXK is the total saponin got out from Dioscorea panthaica Prain et Burkill. It is widely used to treat cardiac angina and myocardial ischemia in clinical. And it is a successful case of the modernization of TCM. But it has some shortcomings. Such as its agent is not so refined, and it contains lots of ingredients include hemolytic ones. MPD is the main effective ingredients of DAXXK. It is well dissolved by water and it is not hemolytic. And it is more safety. So we studied its effects on CAD, so as to find a new drug fro the clinical.1 Effects of MPD on acute myocardial ischemia in rats.With acute myocardial ischemia model by ligaturing rats' coronary artery, we studied the effects of MPD on acute myocardial ischemia. The results demonstrated that MPD could significantly decrease the following parameters in the experiments: ischemia area, CK, LDH and MDA in serum; it can also improve SOD and NO level in serum.2 Effects of MPD on acute myocardial ischemia in dogs.With acute myocardial ischemia model by ligaturing anesthetized dogs' coronary artery, we studied the effects of MPD on acute myocardial ischemia. The results demonstrated that MPD could significantly improve the following parameters in the experiments: the damage degree of myocardialischemia(E-ST), myocardial ischemia area(N-ST), myocardial ischemia area by stained with N-BT, coronary blood floor; it can also decrease CK and LDH in serum, decrease TXB2 in plasma, and increase 6-Keto-PGFia and 6-Keto-PGF1a/ TXB2 in plasma.3 Effects of MPD on cardiac hemodynamics in anesthetized dogs. The results demonstrated that MPD can significantly prolong the occlusion time in vivo and repress thrombosis in vitro. The length of thrombus was shortened, and the moist and dried weight of thrombi were reduced.
