Objective: To examine the possible alteration in the IkBa gene, mRNA and protein and explore its molecular pathological significance. Methods: we have examined the expression of inhibitor kappa B alpha (IkBa) by immunohistochemistry (IHC) and the mRNA levels of IkBa by in situ hybridization in 22 primary Hodgkin lymphoma patients. Individual tumor cells isolated from immunostained tissue sections by laser microdissection were used for semi-nested PCR amplification to obtain the IkBa gene.
