Social anxiety disorder is a chronic disease, which has an enormous impact on person. Its lifetime prevalence rate is 13.3%, which just inferior to depression (17.4%) and alcoholism (14.1%). It has been the third largest psychological disease in the world today. Unlike some other psychological problems, SAD is not well understood by the general public or by medical and mental health care professionals, such as doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists and counselors. However, a lot of debates about the therapy of SAD are due to not an in-depth research on SAD pathogeny and also aren't a conformity idea. Some studies suggested that a person's intercourse attitude was related to the early attachment relationship with his parents. Attachment is a psychological construct that describes the quality of the bond between an individual and those who he or she seeks out for security and comfort. Attachment has been found to have significant impact on various normal and abnormal developmental processes including personality and psychopathology. This study bases on former studies and will have anothereye-----exploring adult attachment style how to integrate the psychosocialfactors being from post studies results of SAD. This study will investigate amental representation model (or internal working mode) of SAD based on adult attachment relationships by factor analysis and logistic regression. The results of the study will support the native psychotherapy of SAD under Chinese culture.MethodThis study is case-control study. Three studies were designed. The first part (Study 1) examines internal consistency reliability; distinguish validity and construct-related validity of AAS (adult attachment scale, 1996, Collins). We will value adult attachment style in study 2 with AAS. The second part (Study 2) will explore the relationship between adult attachment styles of SAD and cognitive models, parent's foster manners, mental defense mechanisms, behavior modes and personality characters to found the mental representation model of SAD. The third part (Study 3) replicates the findings of study 2 to compare the results of psychotherapy of SAD by traditional methods. It is a counterevidence of study 2.Results Results (1)------mean comparison Chi-square test revealed a significant difference of adult attachment-style between social anxiety disorder group (SAD) and normal control (NO ( x 2 =35.22, p=.000) T test revealed a significant difference of FNE> SADn TSBI and STAI between SAD and NC group One-way ANOVA revealed a significant difference of FNE^ SAD^ TSBI and STAI scores within SAD group about the adult attachment stylesT test revealed a significant difference of DSQ between SAD groupand NC group. SAD patients utilized immature defensemechanism more often than NC's, and utilized mature defensemechanism less than NC's. One-way ANOVA revealed a significant difference of DSQ in SADgroup about the adult attachment styles .Many kinds of immature defense mechanism worked by the fearful style of adult attachment T test revealed a significant difference of EMBU between SADgroup and NC group. T test revealed a significant difference of QZPS between SADgroup and NC group One way ANOVA revealed a significant difference of QZPS withinSAD group about the adult attachment styles . fearful style < Secure style\preoccupied style\rejection styleResults (2)—Principal component analysis of adult attachment styles We find 7 effect factors that work to SAD and adult attachment styleResults (3)—Logistic Regression Analysis Logistic Regression Analysis of Grouping and adult attachment styles Preoccupied style has a 4.48 times of influence on the development of social anxiety disorder compared with control group.?Dismissing style has a 4.76 times of influence on the development of social anxiety disordercompared with control group.'Fearful style has a 66.67 times of influence on the development of social anxiety disorder compared with control group. Binary Logistic Regression Analysis of Grouping and 7 factorsOnly factor 1 enters into regression equation. Multinomial Logistic Regression Analysis of adult attachment styles and 7 factorsWhen secure style is regarded as comparisonPreoccupied style is mainly affected by factor 1.2.4 Dismissing style is mainly affected by factorl .4.5.7Preoccupied style is mainly affected by factor 1.7 Dismissing style is mainly affected by factorl .3.5 Conclusion1. AAS could measure off the adult attachment style of SAD under Chineseculture. AAS could assess four attachment styles (fearful, dismissing, preoccupied, secure) based on scores on the three attachment dimensions (close, depend, anxiety).2. The formation of SAD and its mental representation model are associatedwith adult attachment style, which are derived from early relationships with parents.3. The effect factors of SAD holding by most of the past studies don'timpact on the formation of SAD directly in our study. However, they are integrated by adult attachment styles and account for different proportion in personality structure of four sorts of SAD (fearful, dismissing, preoccupied, secure). The adult attachment styles hold an import role likea bridge between SAD and influencing factors.4. There are four key factors of SAD personality structure in the backgroundof adult attachment styles: (DCore traits of SAD------Factor l(thesense of self-esteem in social interaction , extroversion and the ability of resolution). It expresses frequently in every adult attachment style ofSAD. ?Channels factor-----Factor 3(mature defense mechanism) andFactor 4(immature defense mechanism). They are channels of delivercognition and emotion to someone. (3) Attachment traits-----Factor2(father negative manner) and Factor 5 (mother negative manner) and Factor 7(parents predilection). The two factors impact on the adultattachment style of SAD. ?Health protection factor-----Factor 6(parentswarming, sympathy and devotion). It plays a protective role which increase person's secure psycho-behavior. In other words, when the factor 6 works on a person, he will feel well. But if he lacks it, he/she is not always SAD.5. In every SAD case with different attachment styles, the working factorsare different. Therefore, in treating SAD patients, we should consider their attachment styles and involve different treatments based on every mental representation model of SAD above-mentioned.6. The psychotherapy of SAD should follow a scientific path, which will enhance the efficiency of therapy and abate blind spot.
