Background & ObjectiveThe use of chemotherapy to treat cancer is limited by the development of resistant cancer cell variants. A urgent need still exists for the development of new RRA especially active monomer of natural products with high performance and low toxicity. There are many pharmacological actions in catechins, including preventive and anti-cancer activity. However, there is few report on MDR reversal activity of catechins on HCC and OSC in vitro and even fewer in vivo. Systemic research of mechanisms is seldom in China. Therefore, our purpose includes that extraction and purification of ECG and EGCG , MDR reversing of HCC and OSC and the potential mechanism, and the relationship between reversing action and tumor apoptosis. This study intends to offer experimental data for strengthening the exploitation of new drug with ownership so as to enlarge the application of anti-cancer of catechin and to improve the curative effect of chemotherapy on HCC and OSC.Research content1.The extraction and purification of EGCG and ECGMethods: Patent NoZL91 1 09820.8 was used and improved to extract and purified two catechin components. The monomers were identified with TLC and HPLC. Results: Rf value of two constituents of the catechins were identifical with that of standard preparation (P>0.05) . Conclusions: This simple , cheap craft with high yield is fairly ideal for isolating catechin.
