Cucurbitacine B is the efficient extraction of muskmelon pedicel , which belongs to cucurbit of cucurbitacine department. It has proved that it is a sort of highly oxidized four loop triterpenes compound. In fact, our country has a long history in the research of muskmelon pedicel, in ancient time we has had it's record about curing jaundice and the effects of clearing away heat and toxic materials. Nowadays, although people have known some useful effects of muskmelon pedicel very well, yet towards it's active constituent and the research to it's exactly function yet in primary phase. So far, it only has report abroad of cucurbitacine B about it's effect of anti-inflammatory action , whereas our country yet has reports about it's effects of anti-inflammation and restrain fatty liver, while to it's more comprehensive pharmacological action and protection mechanism to hepatocyte, no report exsits.In recent years, our test team has studied the pharmacological effects of cucurbitacine B from more comprehensive aspects, we not only affirmed it's anti-inflammation activity, but also studied it's effects to alcoholic hepatitis and anti-tumor activity.
