Scan Of Susceptibility Gene For Familial Essential Hypertension(ESH) On Chromosome 1 | | Posted on:1999-10-22 | Degree:Doctor | Type:Dissertation | | Country:China | Candidate:C Q Huang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:1104360185468763 | Subject:Biochemistry | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Background:Essential hypertension(ESH) is a major public healthy problem in many countries. It is also one of the most important risk factors of cardiovascular diseases(CVD). Official statistics showed that the prevalence rate of hypertension was 11% in China. ESH has caused enormous social and economic impact on government and people. The causes of ESH are poorly understood. However, its high rate of concordance in monozygotic twins implicate genetic factors. Isolation and location of susceptibility gene(s) for ESH play a very important role not only in elucidating of mechanism of ESH , but also in guiding of future prevention and treatment of CVD. Although there has been considerable success in identifying the genes responsible for monogenic forms of secondary hypertension, there has been relatively little progress in identifying the susceptibility gene of ESH. By the method of candidate genes ,many studies have not led to locating and identifying of any genes that play a significant role in ESH susceptibility. The pedigree analysis and positional cloning were proved to be an efficient strategy by more and more studies. In order to find susceptibility locus for ESH, we... | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Essential hypertension, genetics, gene, linkage analysis, angiotensinogen, gene mutation, pedigree | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
