As slapping progress occurred in Orthognathic surgery lately, conventional research methods based on two-dimensional analysis could no longer match such challenges. To achieve more satisfying treatment result, three-dimensional analysis and research on maxillofacial morphology were required to afford more information and objective evidence for diagnosis; treatment planning, surgery simulation, and evaluation of operation in clinic. According to such demands, Orthognathic diagnosis, planning and simulation system based on CT three-dimensional reconstruction were eatablished and application studies were carried out. Now this system could supply three-dimensional models of patients for diagnosis, help doctors to simulate operation progress, to presume prognosis, and to select suitable operation plan, and could promote the communication and cooperation between doctors and patients. This system was developed by Visual C++6.0, VTK on the platform of Windows 2000 Professional, and was consisted of three modules: Three-dimensional reconstruction system of maxillofacial hard and soft tissue based on CT data; Analysis and measurement system of maxillofacial frame; Operation simulation system for maxillofacial hard tissue and prognostication system for maxillofacial soft tissue change. The whole system was designed under Object-Oriented principle, so each module could communicate fluently...
