Clinical And Experimental Study Of Congzhi Mixture In The Treatment Of Alzheimer Disease

Objective: To study the therapeutic effects and explore the part of mechanism of Yizhi Mixture on Alzheimer's disease (AD) on the base of studying ancient and modern documents. Methods: Clinical study was based on the clinical study instructional doctrine of the traditional Chinese medical new drug curing AD. 68 patients were randomly divided into control group and treatment group, and were observed the symptom, integrate of MMSE, HDS, ADL, FAQ, and contents of SOD, LPO, E2, T; Rats of sub-acute dementia were induced by D-galactose. The faculty of memory and contents of SOD, AchE, NO, NOS, Na+,K+-ATPase, Ca2+,Mg2+-ATPase and lipofuscin. Results: The clinical total efficiency is 86.84% in treatment group, and 53.34% in control group, there is significant difference between them (P<0.01). The symptom, integrate of MMSE, HDS, ADL, FAQ, and contents of SOD, LPO, E2, T of treatment group were remarkably improved, which were significantly difference with the control group (P<0.01, P<0.05). The experimental studies have proved that Yizhi Mixture can notably increase the faculty of memory and contents of SOD, NO, NOS, Na+,K+-ATPase, Ca2+,Mg2+-ATPase, and decrease the contests of AchE and lipofuscin, compared with the control group, whose differences are significant (P<0.01, P<0.05). Conclusions: Yizhi Mixture has extremely precisely therapeutical effect. The potential mechanisms of Yizhi Mixture on AD were getting rid of free radicle, enhancing the levels of estradiol and testosterone in the blood, reducing the contents of lipofuscin.
