[Background of BRD7]BRD7, a novel NPC-related gene, was isolated through cDNA representational difference analysis (RDA). GenBank accession number is AF 152604.Our previous studies showed that BRD7 was expressed at high level in normal nasopharyngeal epithelial tissues, but at low level in nasopharyngeal carcinoma biopsies and cell lines through NPC tissue array. Six BRD7-interacting proteins (BIPs) were identified by yeast two-hybrid system. These proteins included Bromodomain-containing 3 protein (BRD3) and Bromodomain-containing 2 protein (BRD2) which had been approved by immunoprecipitation(IP). Transfection of BRD7 into nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells could induce the reversion of some malignant phenotypes (data obtained from cell growth rate curve, soft agar colony formation, tumorigenic nude-mouse model, etc).
