Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is a kind of common clinic syndromes of nervous system; operation on this kind of epilepsy can often achieve better effects than other kinds. However, the identification of the seizure side and localization of epilepsy foci remain to be the most concerned and the most difficult problem in epilepsy surgery. Electroencephalogram (EEG) can confirm normal electric discharge; but where scalp EEG detects are epilepsy-stimulated zones, not true epilepsy foci that should be excised by operation. Dept electroencephalogram (DEEG) can detect abnormal electric discharge zone; but it is invasive and the scales detected by electrodes are rather limited, the practical appliance is restricted. To research a non-invasive and accurate localizing technique is urgent in epilepsy surgery. But in our country, reports on non-invasive localizing methods of TLE foci are relatively rare and simple due to conditional limitation of instruments. The presenting researches have investigated imaging characteristics, morphological volumes, tissue biochemistry and glucose metabolism of TLE, applying high resolving power MR and advanced PET/CT;...
