Background:The atlantoaxial dislocation is a pathologic state based some injuries and deseases, and it's harms and potential hazardness is great. Once the atlantoaxial dislocation or unsteadiness happens, the high cervical cord and vertebral-basilar artery would be injuried, these would induce severe disability and would endanger the life, thus,to rectify dislocation and to rebuild stability is the important aim of surgical therapy based on the treatment of protopathy. It's very complicated and formidable to treat atlanoaxis because of it is deep and neighboured to cervical cord, vertebral artery, internal carotid artery, throat, esophagus, et al, so this place is called restricted zone of surgical intervention. In the past two or three decades, with the deeply understanding of physiology and pathology of neck-skull junctional zone and the energetic use of biomechanics and microsurgical techniques in spinal surgical domain, the methods of treatment to atlantoaxial dislocation have been improving, and the therapeutic efficacy is better year by year. The classical posterior approach to atlano-axis is verified that it has a easy...
