This study is to detect microsatellite instability of colorectal cancer in Chinese population by using fluorescence multiplex polymerase chain reaction and Fragment analysis methods to analyses its clinical characteristics, and to evaluate impact of Baicalein, Andrographis paniculate Nees (APN) on suppressing the mutation phenotype associated with mismatch repair gene in vetro, providing evidence for research in cancer screening and carcinogenesis and therapeutic modality for MSI colorectal cancer with Chinese medical herbs.Part â…  : The study on detecting MSI in Chinese populationswith Colorectal CancerObjective To detect microsatellite instability by means of fluorescence multiplex polymerase chain reaction and fragment analysis methods of colorectal cancer, and to analyse its clinical characteristics. Method Using the fluorescence multiplex polymerase chain reaction to detect the microsatellite instability with five microsatellite loci in 105 cases with colorectal cancer operated on in our institution between May, 2004 to March, 2006. The difference between the MSI- and MSS-colorectal cancer are compared statistically. Results All 5 microsatellite markers were amplified in 105 cases. Of the 105 cases, 14(13.3%) were MSI-H, 12 (11.4%) were MSI-L and 79 (75.3%) were MSS. Instability of BAT-26 was found in 9 (8.6%), BAT-25 in 11 (10.5%), D2S123 in 11 (10.5%), D5S346 in 6 cases (5.6%) and D17S250 in 9cases(8.6%) . Differentiation and lymph node status between the MSI- and MSS- colorectal...
