Congenital cleft lip and palate is the most common birth defect in China. Although surgical operation and other relative treatment could repair the deformity, the result is not consistently stable and satisfying because of the variety of deformity and the limitation of the researchers along with the old theories. It's necessary to make efforts to research characteristics of the deformity, analysis the geometry principle of methods. On the base of these research and analysis, it's necessary to develop new protocol of repair of unilateral cleft lip and palate(UCLP).The research have demonstrated the tissue deficiency and tissue distort of the UCLP, but the variety of the deficiency and distort has not been covered, nor the relationship between the detail of the deformity. The lack of understand of the deformity must lead to treatment without comprehensive viewpoint. The local deformity may be corrected when the overall harmony is destroyed. So, the research of characteristics will help to improve the level of treatment.Although it was utilized to direct the design of the incision, the geometry principle is simple and improperly.
