Interleukin 12 (IL-12) is produced by antigen presenting cell, for instance, macrophage cell eg. IL-12, a cytokine composed of heterodimers has phenotropic bioactivity and contain two subunits, p35 and p40. And IL-12 can stimulate NK ( Natural Killer ) cells and maturate CTLS.Among many other cytokines,interleukin-12 can induce powerful cellular immune responses for protection against tumor growth and metastasis .As a growth factor of T cells, IL-12 can stimulate the dentification of CD4~+ cells mediated by Th1( helper T cell) and regulate cellular immune responses .It also can stimulate the development of T lyphocytes and natural killer cells and the formation of IFN-gamma.Otherwise, IL-12 can inhibit tumor angiogenesis. RIL-12 has demonstraty antitumor activity in multiple tumor models, for example, malignant melanoma ,hepatacellular carcinoma, breast cancer, renal cancer, glioma multiforme, colon cancer, sarcoma, ovary carcinoma et al.It is reported that IL-12 protein has obvious side effects. Its antitumor activities are usually observed at high dosages. In the clinic trials about...
