Chlamydia trachomatis, an obligate intracellular bacterium, is an important pathogen that causes infections which are generally restricted to mucosal epithelial cells of the conjunctiva or urogenital tract. It is the leading cause of infectious blindness in the world and one of the major pathogens for sexual transmitted diseases. No effective vaccine has been developed yet for following reasons: (1) effective mucosal immunity can't be stimulated by inactive vaccine, subunit vaccine and synthetic peptide vaccine; (2) the period that the specific antigen maintain in vivo is too short to prevent the infection of C. trachomatis; (3) protection were narrow in spectrum for most candidates.Recombinant attenuated Salmonella strains are currently receiving much attention regarding their potential as an antigen deliver system for mucosal immunization. They are particularly useful as oral vaccines since these organisms colonize a major mucosal inductive site. The goal of present study was to construct a live vaccine with attenuated S. typhimurium as a vehicle, which may be effective to prevent infection of C. trachomatis.DNA of C. trachomatis serovar D was extracted as template, and a pair of primers flank VS1 to VS4 of momp were used to amplify the target gene. The...
